I have been playing and enjoying music for as long as I can remember. This includes playing the violin for many years as a child, before quitting and as a result making many more friends without the violin in my hand... No offense violinist's but it's true! I studied music all the way through my school years and went on the study audio engineering at SAE institute in Auckland, New Zealand.
Sonic Altar was forming during my last year of high school. The drumming slot opened up as their previous drummer was useless, unreliable and not allowed out after 6 pm on a weekend and 4pm on a week day. (Suffice to say, he lasted about two practices!)
Music makes people feel good and it's inspiring to go to a concert and see a band pull off a perfect show. It’s this feeling that makes people go crazy on and feed off, a connection between an audience wanting a good time and a band wanting to give them one. I really love how simple yet great that is. And being a part of that is fantastic.
As long as we're doing gigs and writing new material, I'm happy! I look forward to the future, as the band grows and so does the awareness of what we are doing.
Peace.
