As a child I was surrounded by music, whether it be waking up in the morning to my dad cranking up his Beatles records, playing guitar with a fry pan on the coffee table or falling asleep to the sweet melodies of 'Stairway to Heaven' or 'Smoke on the Water'. I owe this early exposure to rockin' tunes for setting me up in life to be in this band and to rumble each venue we decend upon in true heavy metal fashion! I learnt my first chords on a guitar at the age of 10 or 11. I rocked my dads old classical guitar with D majors and A7's and even the odd Em for ages until I found an old guitar music book, then started teaching myself new chords. I have been intrigued by music ever since.

I ended up getting a couple of electric guitars and a semi acoustic which is a bitch to play even now (don't know how I managed as a kid) and I was pretty keen on becoming the next hot-shot guitarist but all that changed when my fisrt band at high school formed and I was relegated to bass. A new interest in the bass was sparked and the seedy love affair with my dark red Yamaha 4-string is still going strong today!

I really feel at home when I'm on stage with Sonic Altar or jamming out some new track in the studio. The boys have become like a second family and it's truely an honour to play along side such talented musicians. I'm hoping for many shows and albums to come and for the chance to take our brand of heavy metal round the world and put NZ on the map for more than just sheep and hobbits! There's really nothing else I'd rather be doing.
