When I was sixteen I wanted to play guitar like Randy Rhoads. The guy was my idol. I eventually got to a point where I could jam along to some songs (horribly I'm sure) and then set about recording some covers... But who was to sing on them? I then discovered that I could hold a note or two. I can't remember how many now. But it wasn't an awful lot back then! From there I did a lot of recording on other peoples music that they would send me on the internet, using a bloody awful Panasonic microphone. Which gave me a crashcourse in writing lyrics. Also I was heavily involved in local musical theatre which really puts you through the paces. And that's how I got started singing... But I still wish I could play like Randy!

There isn't a thing I don't enjoy with the band. I love writing new material and the feeling you get when everyone clicks on an idea during rehearsal and we nail it. It's spooky, hair-raising stuff. But for me the best part is definitely playing live. Nothing beats the feeling that you get when an audience completely in sync with the band and everyone's having a blast. It's better than any party I've ever been to.

Sonic Altar has well and truly consumed me. My mind is constantly racing with thoughts, ideas, concerns (not too many luckily), dreams and desires all to do with the band. The band and music really is my life at the end of the day and I feel this band sums up everything I've always wanted to do musically. It's an awesome thing to be a part of... A group of people who all put everything they've got into being the best they can be. I love how our music transcends genre, demographic and stereotype, but at the same time is kick ass rockin'! The best experiences I've had in my life have been with this band and I look forward to what the future brings for us.
